Have Liverpool enter the race for Klaas Jan Huntelaar?

Liverpool FC,, Klaas Jan Huntelaar

Another striker that we have been linked to in recent months is ex Real Madrid forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar. Who seems to have rediscovered his goalscoring touch at new club Schalke, scoring 15 goals from 16 appearances so far this season.

The striker had been linked with a move to Old Trafford on several occasions including this Januarys transfer window. Huntelaar has stated he was unaware of any interest from Manchester United.

He stated, "I know nothing of alleged interest from Manchester United. I will not even speculate, I am concentrating fully on Schalke. I'll let any offers come to me quietly and will then see what happens. This is the attitude I’ve always had. My contract runs until the summer of 2013. If they [Schalke] want to talk, I'll gladly listen.”

In my opinion at 28 I think Klaas Jan Huntelaar doesn’t really fit into the demographic that Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli have set out. Although a top goalscorer at Ajax Huntelaar struggled at Real Madrid and AC Milan, I feel Lukas Podolski would be a better option. He is younger and would be cheaper than the £15 million that Schalke are rumoured to be asking for Huntelaar.

Meanwhile another hugely successful Don’t Buy The Sun concert was largely ignored by the mainstream media, surprise surprise, as the Justice Campaign and Hillsborough Family Support Group continue to maintain powerful presences in the city and elsewhere. read more
