Fucile, Zaha and the Latest links to Liverpool

Liverpool FC, anfieldreview.com, Martin Kelly

Another compatriot in the January transfer window could join Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates. Porto’s £6 million rated Uruguayan full back Jorge Fucile is the latest player to be linked with the club, Fucile has been capped 34 times for his national team and can play at left or right full back.

You can also add to that list of linked players Fucile’s Porto teammate Fernando, Crystal Palaces Wilfried Zaha and Celtic’s Beram Kayal, who went off injured in last nights old firm game.

In my opinion of the four players listed above I can only see Crystal Palaces Wilfried Zaha as being creditable. He is only 19 and although born in the Côte d'Ivoire, he has played for England’s under 19s, so fits Kenny Dalglish and Damien Comolli’s e-fit criteria and going by the little I have seen of the player seems to be an exciting talent.

As for Fucile I think we have enough young reserve team players that made a positive impact at the tail end of last season and when called upon this season. The likes of Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson and Wilson all showed enough to warrant Kenny’s trust to make the step up when needed.

Meanwhile another hugely successful Don’t Buy The Sun concert was largely ignored by the mainstream media, surprise surprise, as the Justice Campaign and Hillsborough Family Support Group continue to maintain powerful presences in the city and elsewhere. read more
